Last week we were contacted by our vet clinic in regards to a little Poodle boy who has just been diagnosed with diabetes.
His owner is elderly and didn't have the funds to cover his medical expenses.
Arki is very loved and cared for – and we know at 13 years – he could stay with his beloved owner and enjoy that time together.
So. We are going to be paying for his vet bills, via out Vet Dylan, and hopefully Arki will get on top of his treatment, and have a wonderful future.
We have also offered to do a dental which he needs, and provide diabetic food for him – and if he needs anything the vets can give us a call to discuss it.
It's not exactly a rescue but it is one of those times we can, with reason and sense, understanding and compassion, help a member in the community.
So welcome little Arki we hope you are a happy boy now.
Great support.One of the shelters in NSW assists the public who can't afford to bail their dogs out via public donations.So much better than being surrendered if there's a loving home.

I think that’s the perfect decision, having a diabetic dog myself I understand how expensive it us with the special diabetic food and twice daily Insulin. I hope they are able to manage this for both of them
It is a rescue as if owner could not afford and as cares so much about wellbeing may have to get new home as does not want her beloved pet to suffer. This way gets to stay in loving home. This rescuing both of them. X
Our darling boy Hamish had both diabetes and cushing's disease. We fortunately had excellent pet insurance and I was working and able to pay for everything he needed. My son delivered his injections everyday at 6am and 6pm. It was a tough and rocky road as Hamish threw curve balls often in his last two years. He died suddenly 3 days before his 7th birthday. I am so proud of your kindness in supporting this owner as they work through diabetes management. The best outcome is definitely for the dog to stay with the person they love. Diabetes medication is expensive. Libre monitors for two weeks are expensive. Hills Science diabetic food is expensive. We needed our veterinary team more and more and we never had to panic about the cost. You have given both the owner and the dog the gift of a lifetime of safety and security. Thank you. I’ve had 2 diabetic dogs and I know how expensive treatments, insulin , syringes, diabetic foods and curve reads and check ups can be . Thankyou for helping provide all of this little ones needs I’m sure his owner is very grateful . My Daughter has donated a few times to this rescue

Makes so much sense keeping him in the home where he is loved and cared for. Yes it will be an ongoing cost ,but that will be the same even if RWL took this little one on as a rescue- so best outcome for all I think. Well done all involved, for such a sensible caring solution. That's what rescue is about- helping were help is needed and what's best for the pet. β€οΈπ
Thank you RWL for giving a helping hand to Arki and the family. Just to say also, I am getting LOTS of ads on my IPad for the Lost Dogs Home saying how they help all animals. Some of the comments say how good the organisation is. They obviously don’t see the real side of this organisation which is a shame.
This. This is pure love!!! This is what rescue should be… I have seen so many elderly forced to give up their pets because they can’t afford vet bills… It’s not that they never could, it’s just that their situations were different 13 years ago… somethings you can never predict. Thank you for loving this little one and their family, and helping where no one else could. This is rescued with love, not only for their pet, but them as well x

Thank you so much for helping out with wee Arki …. That’s what it’s all about. Rescue and help those of us who can. Others can send good wishes. We have 4 rescue poodles 16yrs old ,12, 10, & 3. A lot of work but hey , we manage π
It's almost a week of no posting due to the ban because I've spoken out about the LDH.
They could for all I know keep banning me, and that means RWL also. It is impacting how we get our message out to you, selling our Calendars to raise funds, but most importantly – the carers are feeling it – a small charity being bullied by a large organisation – with the funds and the will to destroy us.
To destroy me.
RWL needs protection from them.
They will drive us into the ground because I have spoken out.
All of the RWL families are supporting me in this quest. I have to say they keep me going with their outrage and their humour. Their suggestions are beyond. π
It is indeed dark days when we face an uncertain future.

Do you have the option to add files where you can document LDH and just post view latest file update regarding LDH? Or add to the featured section?
It is also important to set up an email list via mailchimp for example and have all your follows to subscribe to this as social media platforms can easily delete your page in an instance πππ
If you email photos to a supporter, are they able to post these in comments? Possible way to get round it

While following RWL for 12 years & I've been in awe of the level dedication shown for the animals in their care. Don't lose faith, spread the word where possible & know you have the support around you. π

I dont think they are doing themselves any favours by their actions. Completely opposite if anything. Word of mouth is letting others know as well. More and more are becoming aware of the disgusting practices of this organisation. Keep up the fantastic work and pressure Kae and know that we all support you 10000%

Indicative of the control around our entire country. Keep on keeping on Kae. You will overcome this and we are all here to support as much as possible. This makes me so angry and I’m sure the LDH is doing itself more harm than good.
I know of ppl who have had bans placed on them for ridiculous reasons and yet things like nudity etc get through. I would bank on RWL page not being able to post photos etc anymore. This is the way LDH can hurt you the most by Meta doing the dirty work for them. Perhaps you need a contingency plan. Good luck and keep fighting.

Can you create a second facebook page for raising awareness that we can all join and share posts etc, and at least if you get bans etc there it doesnt impact the incredible work you do on this page?
Don't worry, it's backfiring on them. I'd never heard of RWL before you spoke out and now I share many of your posts and hope they go viral in support of you and your team

Sincerely sorry this is happening, I have advised all that I know about the LDH and the RSPCA and their practises. Have also reached out to the LDH about Milly and got referred back to their press releases and have asked them to get the rescue group to update the public about the puppy. We all have a right to know the truth.

Tell us what to do! I ask this here for every single post you make about this. We need a campaign! Just like MFW do to take on the huge misogynistic names, we can take on the LDH – but you need to mobilise us! To start off with you need us all to give you our email addresses so you can still speak to your people even if blocked on FB. Then we go from there.
